It is becoming apparent that getting the group ‘up and running’ is going to prove difficult. So may I suggest an alternative approach?

Aims of the group...

To foster and encourage the practice and appreciation of visual arts and photography by providing exhibition space.

Firstly the known costs ;-

Third party insurance for 20 members                             £66
Stationary and administration to date (approximately)    £25
Web Hosting, etc                                                            £20

Costs to date £110

These costs will increase as time go’s by but that gives a starting point.

So, before we progress we need at least 20 people to express an interest!

Now it’s your turn to actually become involved, email me with your name and contact details if you are interested in joining the group when it is ‘up and running’. Initial membership will probably cost £10 per year (this probably will increase , but only when we are actually running).

We will hold your contact details and ‘get back to you’, when we reach that magical figure of twenty interested people.

The following is very speculative, but will give you some idea of the cost of staging an exhibition;-

Exhibition space for two days £500
Banner and advertising £150

Divided between 20 people that comes to just £32.50 each. Add to that your initial £10, gives a final figure of £42.50 plus a little effort. Where else can you put on your own exhibition for that kind of money?

Should the membership grow, the costs reduce, invite your friends to join.
